We just began shooting last weekend on the film "Summer School" and I was able to start shooting my segment of the film. For all of you who don't know whats going on, The Random Creatureface has put together a collaborative project entitled "Summer School" that captures the nightmares of Charles, a film geek highschooler who attends his first day of summer school after staying up and watching a slew of horror films the night before. The film then displays a series of nightmares Charles has after passing out on his school desk. Each nightmare was written and directed by the different person. The writers and directors on set include Ben Trandem, Lance Hendrickson, Troy McCall, Andrew Chesworth, Steve Rhoden, Mike Nelson, Matt Burns, and Pachia Thao. Just this last weekend, we were able to start shooting the beginning sequence along with a bunch of "wake up" sequences. I was also able to start shooting my section of the Hill Billy horror. I was able to get a large portion of my beginning shot, but hope to re-shoot a few of the shots in the next weekend or two. One of the things I did enjoy doing was slopping big nasty muddy footprints down a couple of hallways of the school. Not often you'd be able to do that. What was even more funny is that one of the faculty of the school and church that we are shooting at came up to take a look at the shoot only to find a bunch of muddy footprints everywhere. She stopped at the end of the hallway shock at first, but then the DP Troy McCall went on to explain what was going on. Her response was golden. Quote "Oh, I don't care what you guys do up here. You guys could run up and down the halls naked and I could care less!" Unquote. Beautiful. I was also able to get a really neat dolly shot going from inside the classroom and then out the classroom window revealing Charles poking is head out. As for this coming weekend, we hope to reshoot some of scenes we took last weekend because we feel we can do better, and hopefully start with some of Lance Hendrickson's segement. Until then, I will try to keep you posted on my progress. Have fun. Shoot a Gun.
