Silent Hill

Being a fan of the original video game series and Christophe Gans' Brotherhood of the Wolf I actually have high hopes for the movie. The amazing thing is how close to the source the film seems to be. This is unlike the putrid films of Uwe Boll, Andrzej Bartkowiak's Doom, Mario Brothers, Street Fighter, Double Dragon, Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (I did somewhat enjoy the first film), Tomb Raider: Cradle of life, and Resident Evil 1&2. Bad movies based on video games doesn't seem to be stopping any time soon. Uwe Boll has Dungeon Siege ready to horrify people and its not a horror film...

Then there is also Dead or Alive based on the Tecmo fighting game that looks like a real winnner...

Atleast DOA doesn't seem to have any problem being as tongue in cheek as the game. Hopefully Silent Hill can buck the trend of crappy movies and finally make video game movies close to or on par with most comic book adaptations.

Some sweet stills from the film:

I still got a deuce on Sean Bean biting it in this film at sometime. He seems to be slightly typecast as that guy who will die at some point.
