taxi drivers

i realize that this is technically lance's rant hole...but i must rant too and lance's hole is big enough for everyone.

MINNEAPOLIS TAXI DRIVERS SUCK! especially those who seem to be recent immigrants from Africa. i don't care if that sounds discriminating, cuz, guess what? they discriminate too. last night, after spending a couple of hours in the warmest, loudest club i've ever been to (LEVEL), some friends and i were trying to catch a cab back to uptown. at least ten drivers sped past, about half of whom deemed to stop and ask us where we were headed. upon hearing our destination, they ALL shook their heads and waved their hands dismissively and DROVE AWAY! uh, HELLO, isn't it their JOB to let people into their smelly cars and drive them without much skill to wherever it is they're wanting to go? it's not like they won't get paid if the distance is shorter. i so wish i'd had something to throw at their stupid little faces...bit of raw egg here, half a broken bottle there. even pieces of porcelain launched at their vehicles would've been nice. i sure hope they all DIE LONELY DEATHS and realize how TRIVIAL and WORTHLESS their existence has been!

this is the first time i've EVER heard of taxi drivers refusing fares, and definitely the first time it's ever happened to me. now i know why i dislike dealing with taxis so much!

finally, after about half an hour of this bullshit, a WHITE taxi driver took us on. a white, ANGRY taxi driver. a white, angry, DANGEROUS taxi driver. nonetheless, we were grateful. thank you, endangered-our-lives white angry taxi driver!
