This is the place where you all agree or disagree about my great taste in movies. Lay it down. I don't defend my taste until you agree or criticize it. Let the debate begin!

I'd like to add two more to

I'd like to add two more to the list from the Governator: Predator & Conan the Barbarian.

And since no one is arguing your list I will play devils advocate.
Starship Troopers??? Come on, brother. I can't really sit through that film anymore. There are just too many asinine moments to make it a "Best Film". Having read the original book doesn't help either. The book is great read by the way... and the CGI TV show was actually more based off the book than the movie.

Also what is "Off the Menu: The Last Days of Chasens"? I haven't heard of that film before so enlighten me.

First off, YES Starship

First off, YES Starship Troopers because it is a satisfying R rated action film that has always delivered, not because of its deep subject matter, but because it is its own! I have never taken the film seriously at all. Actually the first time I saw it, I was frightened by the level of gruesome violence it had. Thats just me though. But I also believe that it is one of the most overlooked films in terms of the way it is executed for it's content. First off, Paul Verhoven CAN direct action. I think he is very good at it and of all the action films out in the world, I think this one still holds up as a better one. Second, I think the way they handled the film as this campy sci fi serial with often visceral violence, created this feeling of plasticity in the world of the film that said a lot about it's society and the changes these youngsters make in themselves to fight for freedom. Yes the film is very tounge and cheek and laughable at times, but it's laughable in a a good way. I mean how many times can you say you get to see a full on battle of marines using not lasers but machine guns killing giant bugs. It's always lasers. I HATE lasers! Oh and Michael Ironside kicking ass is pretty neat! I also really enjoy the connection to nazism it had. I'm sure the book is amazing like most books that turn into movies, but I personally am always entertained when watching it. If anything it should be watched as a good flat out gory action flick.
