Fangoria article on the next Re-Animator film!
The Re-Animator series has always been a fun ride for me. While the Bride and Beyond aren't nearly as cool as the original they still were good fer watchin. Bride features the early work of KNB FX for all you FX goons looking for some historical films. Actually the whole series has had really great gore FX so watch all three.
Hopefully the next film: House of Re-Animator won't be too full of the cheesiness of Beyond. Examples: talking skeleton junkie and rat vs. bodiless penis fights (seriously).
I do like the premise for the new one though. It focuses on a Bush-like president who dies in office. His staff covertly brings in Dr. Herbert West to reanimate the Commander in Chief, and the expected chaos ensues.
The other thing going for it is ALL of the original cast and crew are back for the ride. Not only that William H. Macy is supposedly playing the president. It should be a blast seeing Jeffrey Combs acting along side Macy.
A less than thrilling notion is this next film, being the fourth of the series, is designed as the first of another trilogy of Re-Animator films. Atleast we'll get to see much more of Jeffrey Combs even though I think he should maybe back out of the 5th and 6th films and let someone else take over Dr. West's work. Not that he can't do it. I'd much rather see the man play some other rolls.
Re-Animator is re-animated yet again

That poster is hideous! WHAT! At least try to make a poster, not a photoshop project. Hopefully they'll make a REAL one soon.

Not the greatest poster but it'll do.
