I bought a copy of the unrated edition when I was down at Fangoria's Weekend of Horror in Chicago. This film is a true Grindhouse flick. It's a strange strange story about a little girl who is raped by an old man, who spits black gunk, in the park one day. Because of that she grows up mute. Apparently she also grew up pretty stupid as she misses the bus into town one day and decides to just jump in a suave rich looking guy's car. He obviously wines her, dines her, and gets her hooked on super strong heroin so she'll be another prostitute in his whore house. You know, it's that old wife's tale from the sea...
I enjoyed it for the most part. Very cool revenge flick with slow-mo fights, the build up of her skils, etc. And mixed with some really peculiar random hardcore sex shots. Oh the eyeball fx sequence that has got to be true to the legend! That was nuts!
At times the super extreme slow-mo goes from cool to boring to tedious. Synapse films, who released the newest version, offers it up in Red (unrated) or Yellow (rated) cuts. Which is a nice option for people who might just want to watch the film if it was edited for TV. I, personally, have no problem with it and would prefer to see a film cut as it was originally supposed to be shown.
I know Mike has seen it so he can chime in now. Anybody else enjoy Swedish revenge flicks? You might have seen it under one of it's other Grindhouse friendly titles; "Hooker's Revenge" or "They Call Her One Eye".

Once was enough for me.
Once was enough for me. Granted the slow mo stuff is a huge inspiration for me, this film was utterly degrading and overall, kinda pissed me off. The title, They Call Her One Eye is frikin sweet, her revenge sequences are smokin, the poster is wicked, but over all, a very unnecessary film in all. Maybe a classic, yet I still prefer Walking Tall with Joe Don Baker or the legendary Bo Svenson for a revenge flick. Not hardcore enough? Don't care. Hicks duking it out and moonshiners are more interesting than rape and torture.
