Review

I remember watching a preview for this movie and being somewhat interested in what was going on. Lots of guns, lots of shooting, lots of guns. Makes for a good Mike P. Nelson motion picture. Let's just say the movie lived up to any expectations. A .50 cal sniper rifle taking out FBI agents; psycho neo nazis with chainsaws and sten guns cutting up anything in their way; a guy who makes latex masks to disguise himself on the fly. LOTS OF GUNS! The writing was snappy and fun with a splash of Tarantinoism, and the cast was loaded! Jeremy Piven was a treat to watch as the coked out magician who's a little to caught up in the mob. And the intros to the baddies are just insane. The real fun of this movie was watching everyone collide, because you know it's going to get messy, not to mention, any character at any time could wind up dead. Watching, you can tell the director Joe Carnahan is a talented guy who really has his ducks in a row. And as a writer/director, he ain't half bad. He creates a group of psychos, baddies, and good guys that you can't help but love. I wasn't too big on the back story of the murdered FBI agent which I felt really got lost in the mix. The characters and the action are done so well, that the bigger plot point is kind f forgotten until you are reminded of it again. The twist is ok and too gets a little lost in the craziness, but in all, the film still takes you for a great ride. If you are into action films, this is a great modern day addition. Check this out.
